Abstract: The Fifth President Dr. Francis Kerins Collection contains material related to the tenure of the fifth president of the College of St. Francis, Dr. Francis Kerins (1969-1974). It contains correspondence, photographs, reports, and materials related to conferences and meetings attended by the President. It also contains inauguration materials.

History: In the fall of 1969, Dr. Francis Kerins became the first lay President of the College of St. Francis. Prior to being the president of CSF, he taught philosophy and was a professor of higher education at the University of Denver. He was involved with the National Catholic Educational Association and the American Association for Higher Education to improve the education of the CSF students. He was also a part of the Council for the Advancement of Small Colleges, which hosted workshops to improve the education of students and faculty members.
